Over the years, P S M Sports Clinic have progressed from treating injured athletes to dealing with common muscular complaints such as back pain, mobility problems, postural problems and work-related conditions.
As a team of four with our own specialities, we will match you to the therapist who best suits your requirements to ensure that your treatment plan and recovery goes as smoothly as possible. Our sports therapists have experience working with elite sports people and members of the public with chronic pains and injuries. We use a variety of tools to identify and treat your issue, which we will discuss below.
Postural assessments are used to identify any imbalances that may be causing or are likely to cause musculoskeletal problems. Using a variety of unique bodywork techniques combined with stretching and strengthening exercises, we can assist in improving your posture.
Sports massage helps to keep muscles supple and toned and keep joints mobile, improving sporting performance and flexibility. Pre-event sports massage can help to reduce the risk of injury from sprains, strains and muscle tears whilst you are competing.
Deep tissue massages help to alleviate muscular problems and can also assist with the reduction of paint, increase a range of movement in joints and rid the muscles of scar tissue.
Post injury rehabilitation can be long and arduous, but here at P S M Sports Clinic we place the emphasis on ensuring your speedy return to sport, exercise and activity.
Improper use of workstations can lead to fatigue, eye strain, musculoskeletal pain and long-term injury. Poor ergonomics and workstation set ups have also been shown to contribute to stress levels and poor mental health. We are here to provide an in-depth assessment of all workstations in accordance with DSE legislation. We work with employers to provide a comfortable working environment for employees.
Once we have identified your problem, we will treat it using a combination of electrotherapy equipment such as ultrasound and interferential, as well as manual therapy.
A relatively new therapy in the UK, myofascial release has been used over the past few decades to be one of the most effective forms of manual therapy treatment.
